Turkey Rugby League reports major increase in participation

The Turkish Rugby League Association has reported considerable growth as the champions of the men’s and women’s games have been crowned. Kadikoy Bulls defeated Ankara Phrygians 28-18 in the men’s Grand Final, whilst Izmir Batı Gücü also defeated the Phrygians, 8-4, in a double-header staged at the IBB Maltepe Sahil Sport Center, in Istanbul.

Turkey awarded membership of Rugby League European Federation

The Turkish Rugby League Association has become the 21st member of the Rugby League European Federation. They have been upgraded from Observer status after increases in participation and instituting enhanced governance procedures.

Turkey claim inaugural Balkan Rugby League 9s

As part of the festival of rugby league surrounding the U19 European Championships in Belgrade, Turkey have won the inaugural Balkan 9s at the NCS, Makis.

First rugby league international successfully staged in Turkey

Date: 13/7/18

Turkey Rugby League has staged their debut international, their U21s going down 26-4 to Serbia, at the Ataturk Sport stadium in Istanbul. The visitors raced into a 20-0 lead at half time, outstanding Vladimir Milutinovic with all but four of their points - posting four tries and three goals - Luka Raskovic with their other touchdown.
