If you thought the Samoa v Tonga game was a highlight of the World Cup then you are going to love seeing Tonga take on New Zealand this Saturday evening in Hamilton.
The 2017 Rugby League World Cup European qualifying competition kicks off on Saturday in Moscow, when outsiders Spain take on Russia in Pool B. With seeded Ireland the favourites to win the group, the winner of this match could well have one foot in the final eliminator at Leigh on 4 November.
Melbourne fullback Billy Slater will return to the Australian team for the first time in 30 months, while Storm forward Jordan McLean and Cronulla utility Wade Graham have been chosen to make their Test debuts in Friday night’s opening Rugby League World Cup 2017 match against England at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.
Lebanon duly qualified their first World Cup since 2000 with a comprehensive second leg win over South Africa at the Bosman Stadium, Brakpan, Pretoria.
