IT SUDDENLY occurred, while driving through the north of Wales, a fitting analogy for the Rugby League World Cup.
In the car were three absolute tragics of rugby league, all journalists for the same magazine, normally separated by hundreds or thousands of kilometres, but brought together from various corners of the globe for a ‘gathering’.
Offering audiences its most comprehensive live coverage across TV, radio, online and mobile the Rugby League World Cup thrilled audiences throughout the tournament attracting a peak audience of 2.4m, the highest rugby league figure in ten years, tuning in for the opening weekend on 26th October.

Kangaroos Cameron Smith and Jonathan Thurston have thrown their support behind the World Cup and branded the 2013 tournament a success.
Thurston, who played in this one and the 2008 edition, believes it’s probably the best World Cup he has been involved in.

Australia have won back the World Cup with an emphatic 34-2 victory over New Zealand in front of a world record 74,468 fans at Old Trafford.
A two-try effort from a returning Billy Slater from injury, along with a masterful display from halves Cooper Cronk and Jonathan Thurston, was the catalyst for the Kangaroos one-sided win.
