On their return from the Armed Forces World Cup, where they improved with each group game and won a host of admirers inside and out of Colchester Garrison, the Serbian Army rugby league squad have been hosted at an official reception at the Military Academy in Belgrade.
Red Star Belgrade are looking to recruit 2 quality imported players for this season. We are looking for players that will fit in with the current quality members of the squad. We were runners-up in last seasons Serbian RL Grand Final in 2012 and we believe we can win it this year.

Serbian coach Marko Jankovic has selected a 32-man train-on squad, in the build up to the RLEF European Shield 2012/13 beginning its reverse fixtures.
Before the start of the tournament, Jankovic put together a 26-man squad drawn from five clubs Now, a year later, 12 sides are represented reflecting the current expansion underway in the country.

Two tries from centre Marko Cuk set Serbia Country on the way to a 30-22 win over a Belgrade Select in game one of the Serbia Rugby League Origin Series.
Played at Inge SC in the capital, Country took an early 12-0 lead with tries from Branko Bursac and Filip Stosic and two Slavisa Zekic goals.
International centre Velibor Sreckovic hit back with a brace of touchdowns for Belgrade but opposite number Cukâ€™s first made it 16-10 to country at the break.

Serbian coach Marko Jankovic has overseen a four-week camp to select candidates for the national team. Jankovic organised four training camps which included four games, testing more than 50 hopefuls for the second half of Serbiaâ€™s European Shield campaign.

Serbia became the first nation to graduate from the Rugby League European Federation Technical Strategy following completion of a two-day Phase 3 Coaching course, which was run concurrently with the U18s festival in Belgrade at the weekend.

This weekend will see Belgrade host a three-cornered rugby league under-18s tournament, the hosts facing England â€“ made up of a representative side from the Midlands â€“ and Lebanon. The festival comes on the back of Germany and Italy fielding sides at this level for the first time in July.

Rugby leagueâ€™s historical link with the Balkans received a further filip after Red Star Belgrade played the White Rabbits of Banja Luka on Saturday. The visitors led 14-0 at the interval and ran out 28-6 winners but the result was secondary to the matchâ€™s symbolism.
Banja Luka staged the first â€“ and only â€“ rugby league international match played by the Yugoslavian national side, against the France amateur national team, in 1961. Since the creation of the first club in Bosnia and Herzegoniaâ€™s Serbian enclave in June, the old Ottoman city has seen a surge of interest especially after the match at FC Krajina.
