In preparation for their 2021 Rugby League World Cup qualifiers with Scotland and either Greece or Norway in the autumn, Russia head coach Denis Korolev has been a guest at Toulouse Olympique, observing their season preparations for the UK Championship under former French international Sylvain Houles.
Rugby equipment and team wear brand Impact Rugby has become the latest company to join the Russian national rugby league team’s portfolio of partners. The UK based company, which also has offices in Australia and France, has signed on as the official team kit supply partner of the Russian Bears for 2014.
A 32-10 win over defending champions Vereya at the new CSKA stadium, has seen Moscow side Lokomotiv crowned champions in front of over 1,000 fans in the Russian Rugby League Grand Final.
It was the fifth meeting of the sides this season, with the honours even but Lokomotiv were too strong in a match organised by RTC (Russian transport complex) who took over the financing, organization and promotion to make it compliant with the RF Ministry of Sport regulations.

The Russian domestic season got underway in the Moscow Region with menâ€™s, womenâ€™s and colleges 9-a-side tournaments. Vereya Bears won the eight-team menâ€™s competition, while southern university side Don State won the womenâ€™s and collegeâ€™s Gagarin Cups.

Long-serving rugby league official and the founder of the game in Russia, Edgard Taturyan has stepped down from the presidency of the Russian Association of Rugby League Clubs (ARLK), ending an unbroken association with the sport dating back to 1989.
