TVWAN secures TV Rights for Prime Ministers XIII as all rugby channel introduced

TVWAN has secured TV Rights for the Prime Ministers XIII game and the Melanesian Club championships. PNG Rugby Football League chairman Sandis Tsaka announced this today.

He said TVWAN has undertaken some bold steps to grow the game of rugby league in Papua New Guinea with the latest significant move being introduced an all-RUGBY channel.

National Selectors have named a Prime Ministers XIII team based on both experience and youth in preparation for the annual rugby league fixture against an Australian select side later this month.

PNG Rugby Football League chairman Sandis Tsaka when announcing the team said that the squad is made up of Digicel Cup players and has one confederate player. He said the delay in announcing the team was to allow for protocol whereby the squad would be sent to the Prime Minister before it was released.

National Confederates Championships ready for kick off as PNG look towards PM13

Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League kicks off its 2015 National Confederates championships in Lae this Tuesday.

Southern, Highlands, New Guineas Islands and Northern confederates have finalised their teams for the championships and will be flying into the Morobe capital for what is considered an integral part of the PNGRFL programs at the Lae Rugby league grounds.

PORT MORESBY, August 20 – The winners of Papua New Guinea’s Digicel Cup competition and Fiji’s Vodafone Cup competition will face off in Port Moresby in October in the inaugural Rugby League Melanesian Club Championship.

Following in the footsteps of the World Club Challenge, long contested by NRL and Super League clubs, the premiers of PNG and Fiji’s national leagues will now play off for a regional title.

Phil Gould, Penrith Panthers delegation to visit PNG

2015 Rugby League Prime Ministers 13 between PNG and Australia confirmed for 26th September

The annual Prime Ministers Challenge between Papua New Guinea and Australia has been confirmed for September 26.

The match will be played at the Sir John Guise Stadium under lights. PNGRFL chairman Sandis Tsaka announced this today.

PAPUA New Guinea Rugby Football League has announced its Rugby League 9s team to represent Papua New Guinea at the 2015 Pacific Games in Port Moresby.

SP Hunters Head Coach Michael Marum will take charge of the team with Strength & Conditioning Coach Jason Tassell to be the trainer while Solomon Kuluniasi will be team manager.

History in the making for PNG Kumuls in Rugby League Pacific Test

ALBERT brothers Wellington and Stanton and Martin brothers Tyson and Rhyse will create history for the PNG Kumuls when they face Fiji Bati in Saturday’s Pacific Test match at the CBUS Stadium on the Gold Coast.

This is the first time in history when two sets of brothers will wear the red, black and gold in the same Kumuls team.

PAPUA New Guinea Rugby Football League has officially announced the PNG Kumuls team for next week’s May 2 Pacific Test match against Fiji Bati at the CBUS Stadium at Robina, Gold Coast.

The 18-member team is dominated by the SP PNG Hunters with nine players.

PNG have named their test squad for the 2015 Pacific Test double header taking place this Saturday 2nd of May on the Gold Coast.

The team is dominated by players from the PNG Hunters who participate in the Queensland Cup competition (Intrust Super Cup).
