The Western Cape Sports Council recently accepted the Western Cape Rugby League association as a member. Elton Davids of the Western Cape Sports Council commented: ”WP Sports Council is excited to have WP Rugby League as part of it's membership. Sports Council's are duty bound to acknowledge various codes, recognize their positive role in society while contributing to making this 'an active and winning nation”.

FIRFL rugby league coaching course staged in Rome

Tyrone Sterry led the first FIRFL Italian rugby league coaching course held on 18 and 19 March at Roma V. During the course, the Italian national coach Tyrone Sterry, underlined the fundamental importance of the role of the coach, which should be the point of reference for the whole group.

19 nations attend 2015 RL European Federation Congress in Belgrade

A total of 19 nations – 11 full, five affiliate and three observer – attended the 2015 RLEF Congress which included the annual council meeting, held for the first time in Eastern Europe, the Serbian RL acting as hosts in Belgrade.

The continuing struggle to obtain government recognition for rugby league in Morocco has reached a new phase following the added support of Claude Moraes, MEP for London and Chair of the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee, who has agreed to look into the case and help raise the matter at EU level.
