A new Nigeria Rugby League Association has replaced the previous governing body as Observer members of the RLEF, following a number of inactive years by the old federation.
Rugby League Nigeria is now part of the Rugby League European Federation (RLEF) after the application of Rugby Sports 13 Foundation of Nigeria to become an Observer was accepted by the Federation making it the next West African country to be recognized following Ghana s acceptance.
The RLEF has accepted an application by Rugby League Nigeria to become an Observer of the federation, meaning that a second West African country is now recognised, following Ghana.
“This is a testimony to all the work done so far, and will greatly serve as an elixir to greater speed in the development of rugby league in Nigeria,” said association president Uche Ezechiogbe.
Rugby League can't be criticized for standing still! Nigeria of all places, is taking up the greatest game and it is on the back of African nations like Ghana taking up rugby league.
In the last 24 months Nigeria have been flying under the radar but have been involved in various rugby league developmental activities.
