In preparation for their forthcoming international in Germany (20 June), the Netherlands Rugby League national team has attended their first-ever two day training camp, hosted at 'de Horsterhoeve' in Ermelo,

Head coach Kane Krlic said, “It has been a huge success, the amazing facilities allowed us to create the perfect environment for the players. The coaches used a variety of different training methods to test them both physically and mentally.

Over 40 people turned up for the first training session at the latest rugby league club to be set up in the Netherlands.

Harderwijk Dolphins RLFC, initiated by national coach Kane Krlic, welcomed NRLB development officer Jason Bruygoms and recently qualified coaches Thijs van der Zouwen and Ciaran Jaras to run an introductory session which was attended by boys and girls of varying ages.

Dutch qualify rugby league coaches and match officials and Belgium come on board

A group of Dutch coach and match official tutors and candidates have completed a course in Rotterdam.

RLEF Coaching Manager Martin Crick and his match officials counterpart Steve Davis oversaw the sessions which were led by Jason Bruygoms and Timo Meinders (coaching), and Bruygoms and Misaele Vakadranu (match officials). Successful completion means that the NRLB graduated from the three-year RLEF technical strategy.

Following the RLEF’s 15th annual congress, held in Belgrade, the Nederlandse Rugby League Bond has been elevated from observer to affiliate member status, taking the total number of members to 19 - with an additional 14 observer nations alongside.
