The sixth, annual Griffin Cup takes place in Rotterdam tomorrow (Saturday) with the Netherlands looking to hold on to the trophy after winning it for the first time last year, when they defeated Germany 30-18 in Osnabruck.

Over 600 Dutch children get a taste of rugby league

The Netherlands Rugby League Bond hosted an afternoon of games at the Kongingsdag Sport Festival, where over 1400 children from the surrounding areas worked around a carousel of different well known Dutch sports.

Over 600 enjoyed a 20 minute rugby league coaching session led by NRLB head coach Kane Krlic and three other qualified colleagues, who and were supported by four students from Landsede, the local college.

A wheel turned full circle for Amsterdam Cobras as they won the 2018 NRLB Grand Final, 29-28, in golden point extra time last weekend, defeating Den Haag Knights to register their first title in four seasons of NRLB competition.

Win for Netherlands Rugby League as Greatest Game to be played in schools

The Netherlands Rugby League Bond has announced the creation of their first-ever schools rugby league programme.

It aims to engage participants from the ages of 6 to 18 and, to begin with, the sessions will be delivered by national head coach, Kane Krlic.
The first block has already started at Bredeschool Stadsdennen Harderwijk.

Elite Netherlands rugby league players offered development initiative

Seventeen of the most promising rugby league players in the Netherlands are to be offered a place on a new initiative, the Elite Netherlands Rugby League Programme (ENRLP).

A development centre has been created to improve the player’s understanding, knowledge, core physical and mental skills required for international rugby league.
