Russia maintained their unbeaten start to the competition with a testing win in rain-sodden Naro-Fominsk.
Conditions were tough throughout with the game played in a relentless downpour, the Bears making the perfect start when Mikhail Nisiforov and Kiril Kosharin exchanged passes down the left on a 50 metre break, , Kosharin sliding over in the first minute, Aleksandr Lysokon converting.
Italy 22 sneak home against Russia 18 in European Championship B Game 5

Italy went to the top of the table after winning the battle of the previously unbeaten nations but were pushed all the way by the Russians, both sides scoring three tries.
What undid the Bears in the closing stages was their indiscipline, conceding three kickable penalties and nine in the second half in total culminating in the late sin binning of Anatoly Grigorev for dissent, and the dismissal of Ruslan Izmailov after the whistle for his protestations to referee Tom Mather.

Canada 52 smack USA 14 in Rugby League international

Well it had been a long time coming but the Canadian Wolverines have finally notched up their first Colonial Cup series win.
In front of 7,356 rugby league fans on Saturday night in Toronto the Wolverines made history in style. Not only did they defeat the USA but they did it by putting on nine tries. With the half time score 18 – 4 in favour of Canada, the 2nd half continued the onslaught with the USA unable to contain the Canadians.

Serbia threw the 2014-15 European Championship B wide open at the half-way stage with their second-ever win over Italy, producing a massive shock at the Makis Stadium, Belgrade to move top of the table on points difference.
The hosts were the more motivated, physical side, delighting their coach Marco Jankovic.
Cook Islands and Tonga teams for clash at Campbelltown for place in 2017 RLWC

The journey towards the 2017 Rugby League World Cup will continue on Saturday night as Cook Islands faces Tonga in a qualifier at Campbelltown Stadium.
The match, which will decide the final Pacific entrant to the 2017 Rugby League World Cup, will feature a number of NRL players, including Tonga's Solomone Kata, Jorge Taufua, Mahe Fonua, Sika Manu and Manu Ma'u, as well as Cook Islands' Jordan Rapana.
Scotland 42 win opening Rugby League European Championship match against Wales 18

A virtuoso display from skipper Danny Brough saw Scotland down valiant Wales 42-18 in the opening match of the 2014 European Championship.
The Huddersfield star, who scored 14 points and had a hand in three of his side’s seven other tries, was five years older than the next most senior Scot and relished his role of leader, as the hosts eased to victory in the second half.
