Hungary host Rugby League 9s on banks of the Danube

The latest activity in the RLEF-EU Leadership Devolution Project has taken place in Budapest, Hungary, with the Hungarian RL Federation overseeing a match officials course and a 9s tournament on the banks of the Danube.
RLEF tutors Phil Smith and Rale Novakovic, as well Italy’s Guido Bonatti, were on hand to lend their experience to Hungarian match official trainees Balint Mezes and Zsolt Lukacs.
Hungary stages first local rugby league competition

The Hungarian Rugby League Federation organised its first Rugby League Cup over the weekend. Having had spent two years establishing exchanges with teams from regional neighbours Serbia and the Czech Republic, four male and three female teams played in a nines competition in Székesfehérvár, 65km south-west of Budapest.
First Hungarian coaches gain rugby league qualification

Marko Nikowitz and Mezes Balint from Budapest have become the first Hungarians to pass the Rugby League European Federation Level One coaching course.
Alongside seven Serbians, they took their theoretical paper at the headquarters of the Serbian RL Federation and passed their practical exam at the SC Inge Stadium under the auspices of Serbian national coach Marko Jankovic and Dragan Radlovic.
