Ghana Rugby League Development Manager Sylvester Wellington has overseen the completion of a training course for potential rugby league leaders, held at the University of Ghana in Legon, Accra.

The members of the Rugby League Development Fund would like to congratulate the Ghana Rugby League on playing their first international test match against a touring GB Pioneers team.
Ghana Rugby League was the recipient of the 2012 - 2013 Rugby League Planet Rugby League Development Fund grant. With the assistance of the Rugby League European Federation the RLDF were able to provide much needed Steeden footballs to assist with the development of rugby league at local schools in Ghana.

Nana Prempeh, an Ashanti Royal from Kumasi, has been made president of the Ghana Rugby League Federation.

Ghana Rugby League launch 9s circuit and recycling initiative
January 26th saw the start of a President’s 9s tournament in Ghana involving four clubs, with the champions crowned in December. In a bid to welcome newcomers into the sport, the 9s will feature on the last Sunday of each month at Legon Rugby Field and involve existing sides; Bulls, Pirates, Panthers and Skolars.
Ghana Rugby League step up preparations for MEA Championship
Ghana Rugby League has stepped up their preparations for the 2019 MEA Championship, due to be held in Lagos, Nigeria from 2-5 October. The Leopards first came on the rugby league radar in July 2014 when hosting the GB Student Pioneers at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra.
Ghana Rugby League Federation appoint national head coach
Ghana Rugby League has appointed Andy Gilvary as their national team head coach in preparation for the 2019 Middle East Africa Rugby League Championships, to be held in Nigeria from the 2-6th October.
Rugby League Planet donation lands in Ghana

Ten months after being named the winners of the Rugby League Development Fund, Ghana’s good fortune became manifest with the welcome arrival of 150 rugby league balls in Accra. The RLDF is run by Rugby League Planet, with the $2500 being awarded to Ghana Rugby League by the fund’s members. Ghana Rugby League official Sylvester Wellington and RLP’s Richard Cowley then agreed that the best use of funds was the purchase of footballs to aid Ghana’s continuing growth.
