Lokomotiva Beroun win 2nd consecutive CZRLA 1st Division Grand Final

Lokomotiva Beroun have gone through a second consecutive CZRLA 1st Division Championship season undefeated with a 36-28 win over Zemní Stavby Vrchlabí (formerly the Mad Squirrels) in the Grand Final.

Lokomotiva Beroun have gone through a second consecutive CZRLA 1st Division Championship undefeated. Beroun have not suffered a loss since being defeated by the Pardubice Jets in the 2011 Grand Final; this impressive run includes being undefeated both home and away in the 2012 & 2013 Championships, as well being undefeated in the 2012 & 2013 CZRLA pre-season 9s tourneys and having won the 2012 CZRLA Grand Final 50-0 against Prague Vikings. They will now play Zemni Stavby Vrchlabi in the 2013 CZRLA Grand Final.
2013 Czech Rugby League season hits halfway mark

The CZRLA International 9s was the final event of the first half of the Czech Rugby League season before the national team takes on Norway in Oslo in Game 2 of the 2013 European Bowl, and the 1st and 2nd Divisions Championships take a break over the summer holiday season.
Belgrade select win third CZRLA International 9’s tournament

A Belgrade Select team won the third annual Czech Rugby League International 9s tournament in Pardubice. The Serbians defeated an impressive Hungary XIII in the final match of the day to remain undefeated and go one better than their previous participation in the event in 2011, when they were defeated by Lebanon’s LAU in the final.
Czech’s pushed all the way by the Serbian under 20s

The Czech Republic won a fiercely contested match with the touring Serbian U20s, running out winners 28-22 in Vrchlabi.
The young Serbians showed immense courage and some fine skills against bigger and generally older opponents to ensure the home team never pulled away from them on the scoreboard.
Czechs announce train-on squad for Bowl defence

The Czech Rugby League Association has announced a 35-man train-on squad as they prepare to defend the European Bowl for the second successive year. The squad is heavily influenced by the country’s oldest club, Lokomotiva Beroun, which is undefeated in 20 games and supply 11 players to a squad that also reflects the steady progress in local development.
Czech Rugby League qualify new batch of match officials

A total of 13 new match officials, many with links to CZRLA clubs, have qualified as match officials after a dual language course. Theory sessions were run in the morning with practicals worked in tandem with a second division tournament in the afternoon, where the candidates where either shadowed as referees by tutors or worked as touch judges.
Beroun and Chrudim remain undefeated in Czech RL Championships

Lokomotiva Beroun and the Chrudim Angels remain undefeated in their respective divisions in the Czech Rugby League Championships.
Beroun have nilled three of their four 1st Division opponents en route to finishing the first half of the home-and-away season undefeated. So far this season they have defeated Vrchlabi 56-0, Havlickuv Brod 38-0, and Mikulov Roosters 42-6 at home, and Teplice Dragons 50-0 away with some impressively mature attacking rugby league and solid defence.
2013 Czech Rugby League Championships kick-off

The First and Second Divisions in the Czech Rugby League Championships have kicked off their 2013 seasons.
In the First, 2012’s undefeated premiers, Lokomotiva Beroun, took up where they left off with a comprehensive 56-0 win over Vrchlabi. Two of the three promoted teams battled it out in the other opening round game, Teplice defeating Havlickuv Brod 28-8, Vaclav Fischer with a hat trick; Mikulov Roosters had the bye.
Czech Rugby League set for expansion

Following their AGM in Prague, the Czech Rugby League Association has announced an expanded domestic competition for 2013 with two divisions of five taking the field and increased junior participation.
