Czech rugby league season kicks off

The Czech Rugby League division one season has kicked off with double defending champions RLC Dragons Krupka defeating promoted Orli Havlickuv Brod 42-6. In the other match, newly combined Lokomotiva Beroun/Vrchlabi Mad Squirrels succumbed to 2017 runners-up Slavia Hradec Kralove 42-14. The four team league will see each side play the others home and away, with semi-finals and a Grand Final to follow.
Czech Republic and Norway name their squads for RL international

The Czech Republic and Norway have announced their squads to play in Saturday’s international in Krupka, close to the east German border. It will be the third meeting between the nations, with each having won once.

Two tries in three minutes at the start of the second half saw the Czech Republic emerge triumphant, 26-6, against Hungary at the KFKI Sporttelep in Budapest.
RLC Dragons Krupka win Czech Rugby League title

A penalty six minutes from time by Vit Zajicek ensured that RLC Dragons Krupka won their first Czech Grand Final in the tightest of matches, defeating RLC Slavia Hradec Kralove 20-18.

Nordic Cup winners Norway will travel to the Czech Republic later this month, the fixture being held at RLC Dragons Krupka Stadium on 24 September (kick off 4pm).

The Czech Rugby League Association (CZRLA) successfully launched the RLEF’s new EU-backed Training and Education Portal, playing host to delegates from England and Sweden as well as rugby league teams from Poland and Hungary.
Czech Rugby League celebrate record year of domestic matches

Despite a one-sided Grand Final, which saw table-toppers Orli Havlickuv Brod impressively defeat nearest rivals Czech Rabbitohs 62-0 in Tis to win their first crown, the CZRLA is celebrating a record year of domestic matches.
Seven sides in the First Division played each other home and away, Havlickuv Brod only losing twice in a memorable year.
Czech Republic Rugby League celebrate win over Belgium in Tris

The Czech Republic registered only its second-ever win at full international level, six years after their first, defeating Belgium 14-4 in Tis, and levelling the two-match series following their 50-12 defeat in Brussels in April.
English colleges embark on two game RL tour to Czech Republic

A 19-man tour group representing English Colleges has arrived in the Czech Republic to play two games against the Czech U20s in Vrchlabí.
The first match is tonight (Friday, 18:00 kick-off) with the second on Sunday (14.00 kick off) after which there will be an official, commemorative dinner.

The Czech Rugby League Association has put junior development as a priority and is gearing up for a forthcoming U20 international against an England Colleges team, ahead of full internationals at home to Sweden on 25th July and Belgium in early October.
