Canada has set itself the goal of retaining the Colonial Cup when this year's series against the USA tees off next weekend.
"As the Colonial Cup holders, we are coming into this series with the goal of returning the Cup to Canada for the second straight year," said Wolverines team manager Paul Buchanan.
Fresh from announcing the appointment of native Aaron Zimmerle as their new coach for the forthcoming 2017 Rugby League World Cup - Americas Qualifying Tournament - to be held in Florida in December - Canada Rugby League Association has named nine new faces in the side to take on the USA Hawks in the Colonial Cup, at A. A. Garthwaite Stadium, Conshohocken, PA on 20 September.
After six weeks of USARL competition, the growing strength of the domestic game in the USA has been illustrated in the initial 35-man Hawks train-on squad, named to face Canada for a two game series in September and October.
There are 28 newcomers to the representative arena in a group that encompasses all 14 teams; 2014 Premiers Atlanta Rhinos with the most selections, providing a fifth of the total.
It's that time of the year again where the Canadian Wolverines take on Jamaica in the Caribbean Carnival Cup.
This is the 4th edition of the tournament with Canada holding the upper hand having won all three Internationals against Jamaica.
The Royal Air Force have held onto the Billy Bishop Cup by running out 40 - 18 winners against the Wolverines at Lamport Stadium in Toronto on Saturday.
The local's turned up in numbers again with 4,626 getting behind their national team.

They might have missed out on qualifying for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup but that won’t stop the professionally run CRL from aiming high in 2014. The Canadian’s have released their 2014 International Rugby League schedule and with 5 internationals in the pipeline they are outdoing some of the well-known rugby league nations in the international fixture stakes.

Canada have named their side to take on the USA in the last tie of the rugby league Colonial Cup series. Canada have so far won only one game in the four game series.

The USA Tomahawks have named an 18-man squad for the second Colonial Cup match against Canada.
The US will host the Wolverines in Conshohocken, PA, on Saturday, August 24, 2013. The game will be played at AA Garthwaite Stadium and will follow the USARL championship final.
