Australia announce 2013 Rugby League World Cup train-on squad

The Australian Rugby League Commission have added the first batch of players to their 2013 Rugby League World Cup train-on squad.

Their first assignment will take place at Kalabond Stadium, Kokopo in Papua New Guinea on the 29th September 2013 when the Australian PM XIII's take on the PNG PM XIII's.

Australia and New Zealand into Women’s RL World Cup final

New Zealand have maintained a stranglehold on the Women’s World Cup since its inception, having won the competition on three successive occasions, and will be looking to maintain their undefeated World Cup record on Sunday against an Australia side they already beat 14-6 during the competition's round-robin group stage.

Anzac nations to meet in Armed Forces RL World Cup final

Anzac nations Australia and New Zealand will meet in the final of the 2013 Armed Forces Rugby League World Cup at Colchester Military Garrison tomorrow (Saturday, 2.00pm).

New Zealand earned their place in the final after defeating 2008 World Cup winners Great Britain 20-16 in the semi-finals in a hard-fought and will face Australia, who booked their place in the final after a comfortable 110-0 semi-final win over Serbia.

Australia name squad for clash against New Zealand

Australia have named an 18 man squad for their clash against New Zealand at Dairy Farmers Stadium in Townsville on the 13th of October. Kick-off 6.30pm (QLD Time).

The final qualifiers for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup finished up in November. Australia, New Zealand, England, France and Papua New Guinea automatically qualified. The remaining five spots have seen 14 teams compete in the qualifying rounds over the last 2 years. The end result will see arguably the best 10 rugby league nations in the World battle it out in next years World Cup.
