The UAERL have announced that their domestic Rugby League Cup, featuring Abu Dhabi Harlequins, Al Ain Amblers, Xodus Wasps and Dubai Sharks, will be sponsored by Nissan Middle East.

To the crowd of 5000 that watched the Toa Samoa Residents against New South Wales Country the game was Toa’s for the taking but handling errors and attitude saw NSW take the win yet again 22 to 18.

Toa Samoa coach Ponifasio Vasa said that despite losing he has seen great improvement in his side and is very proud of their efforts. “The boys played very well, it was a big change from Monday’s game and I am very proud of the way they played.”

The trophy that was awarded to the winners of Belgrade Liberation Cup from 1954-1964 has been presented to Serbian Rugby League Federation for posterity, and will now be permanently displayed at their new offices in the Belgrade.

Miodrag Krdžić, who has been the guardian of it for almost 30 years presented it to RLEF Central and Eastern Europe Director and SRLF General Secretary Jovan Vujošević and the SLRF membership for their safe-keeping.
