Hot off the back of a record crowd for the Rugby League World Cup final, Latin Heat Rugby League will be hosting a social day at New Farm Park, Brisbane, this Sunday, December 9.

Aiming to attract players and supporters interested in spreading rugby league through the Latino community, the event will take place at 3pm near the soccer fields and library.

The afternoon will include social touch football, drinks and the chance to mix with others from the Australian-Latin American community.

Latin Heat Rugby League, a not-for-profit organisation that provides free opportunities for people of Latino heritage, is generously supported by Guzman y Gomez, Crop del Monte Coffee Specialists, Rumba Latina Entertainment and Gringo Magazine.

The Heat give players a previously non-existent chance to represent Latin America on the International Rugby League scene and to learn and develop the skills of the game in a well-credentialed environment in Australia.

You can find more at the team's Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/SouthAmericanRugbyLeague

The Latin Heat's core mission is to develop a mutual respect of Australian and Latino culture and to spread the great game of rugby league around the world.

Currently the Latin Heat squad is formed of players from right across the spectrum – stretching from Argentina in the south to Mexico in the north.

The Latin Heat encourages all Australian and UK-based players to register with NRL an RFL affiliated clubs to receive coaching and playing opportunities outside of representative duty.
