Philippines Rugby League

25/9/18

Vice President Paul Sheedy would like to thank all those that helped get the TAMARAWS to the Emerging Nations World Championship starting this weekend by sponsoring the country’s national side. With all your names on the National jersey we are all honoured to wear. We know that you will be with us on the field, making every tackle and hit up, as we proudly represent the Philippines in “The Greatest Game of All!”

Coach Arwin Marcus has named his squad for the upcoming Emerging Nations World Cup

The team includes experienced campaigners Richie Goodwin, Ned Stephenson, Rez Phillips and Paul Sheedy.

Former Gold Coast Titan Shane Gray will play his first game for the Tamaraws since their historic win against Vanuatu in 2014.

Experienced half Marc Russell also comes back into the squad after missing the Hungary test in February.

Only 2 Debutants come into the squad Jordan Bien and Emmanuel Rodriguez.

The Philippines are in Pool A alongside Malta and Niue and will be looking for their first wins against both nations.

The Tamaraws have played both teams previously and were defeated by both sides 44-26 against Malta in 2017 and 36-22 against Niue back in 2014.

Our campaign kicks off against Malta at 2pm on Monday 1st of October at Windsor Sporting Complex, George St & Rifle Range Rd South Windsor.
