Toronto Wolfpack have agreed a landmark broadcast partnership with Setanta Sports. The agreement sees Wolfpack games broadcast on Setanta live across Asia and the Indian Sub-Continent for the remainder of the current regular season. The first game shown will be the Wolfpack’s Saturday’s Home Opener against London Broncos at Lamport Stadium in conjunction with Setanta Asia and UK broadcast partner Premier Sports.

In all, seven of the Wolfpack’s remaining eight regular season matches will be shown live. Coverage is available in 16 countries and reaches over 55 million households across the continent, bringing Toronto Wolfpack to a host of new audiences. Toronto Wolfpack General Manager, Scott Lidbury, commented:

“We are delighted to have Setanta Sports join our portfolio of global broadcast partners. This takes the number of households our games can be viewed in worldwide to 100 Million which is a fantastic landmark.

“Agreements like this are key to the Wolfpack’s aspirations to expand our worldwide fanbase and sponsorship appeal.”

Setanta Sports in Asia is firmly established as a rugby broadcaster, covering top-level domestic and international Rugby Union and Rugby League from across the globe. Broadcasting Toronto Wolfpack games will add the RFL to their portfolio. Lidbury continued:

“Setanta Asia broadcasts to more than 55 million homes in a part of the world where rugby is rapidly growing in popularity. We believe that the world is a better place with more rugby balls in kids’ hands and we hope coverage of the Wolfpack inspires youngsters across Asia into the sport.”

Toronto Wolfpack’s current sponsorship portfolio already showcases how the Wolfpack brand can be used to drive Anglo-Canadian trade and tourism. Lidbury concluded:

“Through Setanta Sports we will raise the Wolfpack’s profile in Asia and actively encourage new trade links to form. We will also provide our current sponsors a potential platform in new markets.”

The games will be shown on the Rugby Channel on the Setanta Asia platform

Fans across the globe can continue to use Wolfpack TV, the club’s online streaming service designed for those who cannot access TV broadcasts. Toronto Wolfpack Global Memberships are also available worldwide, allowing supporters to form an association with the team from around the world.
