Through the hard work of our Australian-based volunteers and sponsors, Latin Heat has already raised more than $10,000 in donations to the operating costs of the first full 13-a-side Latin American Rugby League Championships in Chile in November.
To ensure participation by all classes and keep the sport accessible to all, we’re looking to raise a similar figure through crowdfunding to assist the travel costs of participants who will be flying into Chile from places like Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Argentina.
Many of these players work 80-hour weeks and have barely enough to cover family expenses, so to take time off from work and travel such distances is a major undertaking.
