In the spirit of promoting the international game, GYG Latin Heat Rugby League and the Newtown Jets have announced special tickets for those who attend the May 7 Pacific Test Double Header.
Anybody who attends the Pacific Test will receive $5 entry to the June 11 International Rugby League Fiesta featuring Chile v El Salvador, Colombia v Ecuador, and Peru v Uruguay at Henson Park.
Fans simply need to show their ticket to the Pacific Test to staff at the Henson Park gate and enter the ground before 1.30pm for the 50 per cent discount.
“We love what the Pacific Test is all about and look forward to seeing Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and PNG compete each year,” Latin Heat president Robert Burgin said.
“The main game of the Latino nations will see Chile and El Salvador battle it out wearing similar colours to Samoa and Tonga and we are keen to keep that Red versus Blue rivalry going.
“Of course we’d love it if people could support a Latino nation on the day, but we’d also be thrilled to see jerseys from as many different Rugby League nations as possible in the crowd.
“The day will be a celebration of all those fans who love International Rugby League.”
The clash between Chile and El Salvador will be the first time two Latino sides have competed in a full 13-on-13, 80-minute contest.
Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay will face off in seven-a-side matches.
Advance tickets to the June 11 games will soon be made available online for a very affordable $9 + booking fee.
Newtown has generously agreed to grant a free pass to one of their remaining home games for anybody who purchases their tickets to the June 11 game online in advance.
Directly following Chile v El Salvador on June 11 will be the NSW Intrust Premiership match between Newtown and the Wentworthville Magpies.
Match Schedule: 11.15am Colombia v Ecuador (Game 1), 11.35am Peru v Uruguay (Game 1), 12noon Colombia v Ecuador (Game 2), 12:20pm Peru v Uruguay (Game 2), 12:50 Chile v El Salvador, 3pm Newtown v Wentworthville.
