Date: 4/5/16

A host of Pacific Test Match players gathered at Pirtek Stadium today, including team captains and coaches, ahead of their matches on Saturday.

All four Pacific coaches were happy with team preparations to date and said fans and local communities had been fantastic in the level of support and hospitality shown throughout Western Sydney in particular and from back home.

Fiji will take on PNG, followed by Samoa vs. Tonga, with all teams conducting a final open training session tomorrow for fans to visit and watch some of their heroes train and then meet them afterwards.

Teams will train at the following locations tomorrow (Thursday 5 May):

PNG and Fiji training and fan afternoon, Pirtek Stadium – 3:30pm – 5:30pm

Samoa training and fan afternoon, Campbelltown Stadium – 3:30pm – 5:30pm

Tonga training and fan afternoon, St Mary’s Leagues Club – 3:30pm – 5:30pm

In a further boost for the matches, international financial service business MoneyGram has confirmed their sponsorship and support of the Pacific Test Matches.

“The NRL has a profound impact on the lives of people around the world and it is exciting to witness how inspiring this sport is for many fans, particularly those who follow the many Pacific players in the game,” said Michael Minassian, MoneyGram’s senior regional director, Australia & Oceania.
