The Rugby League season will kick-off early in 2016 with the Oceania 9s Multicultural Tournament taking place on the 16th and 17th of January at North Leagues Bishop Park in Nundah Queensland.
The tournament itself will be capped at 20 teams with the likes of Philippines and West Papua already entering teams.
The 9’s tournament has been sanctioned by the Rugby League International Federation and will follow the international 9s rules provided by the RLIF.
Programs for the tournament will be available at the gate for $1 with proceeds going to the Queensland Cancer Society.
With the deadline for registrations being the 30th of November and places filling up fast organisers are still looking to invite Australian based National teams to enter the Tournament.
If you are keen to enter a team please contact Event Manager Ian Watson via email: oceania9srl@gmail.com or Phone 0416 523 928.
If you can’t enter but need your first fix of Rugby League for 2016 make sure you get down to Bishop Park in January.
