The Cook Islands have been busy this week accommodating RLIF Chairman Nigel Wood. Wood ducked over to the Cook Islands to meet up with Charles Carlson who is the President of Cook Islands Rugby League and also the Chairman of the Asia Pacific Rugby League Confederation.
The visit by the RLIF chef was a big positive for the Cooks and the Pacific in general.
The Cooks won 6 awards at the Cook Islands sports awards earlier in the year and this visit has capped off a great 2014 for the Pacific Nation.
With Nigel Wood departing the Cook Islands Rugby League attention will turn to the Tri-Series that kicks off this Saturday.
The 3 game series will see Resident XIII, Aussie Cooks and NZ Cooks play each other.
With the 2017 World Cup qualifiers due to start next year, the Tri Series will be a good way to identify talent who may have the potential to represent the Cook Islands in upcoming internationals.

Sat 15th Nov 4pm Resident XIII vs Aussie Cook (Host: Ngatangila Sea Eagles)
Tue 18th Nov 5pm Aussie Cooks vs NZ Cooks (Host: Tupapa Panthers)
