Overview: The opening game of the 2014 Rugby League Four Nations see England take on Four Nations new comers Toa Samoa. The game will take place at Suncorp Stadium as Game 1 of a double header. England narrowly went down to New Zelaand 18 – 20 in the 2013 RLWC semi final in what many label as one of the best international rugby league games in recent times. England under performed the last time the came down under for a Four nations tournament. They will be homing to get off to a flying start when they meet Toa Samoa.

Toa Samoa pulled off an upset in May when they steamrolled Fiji 32 – 16 in the Pacific International at Penrith Stadium. Samoa will be fielding a strong side for their opening match with England in the Four Nations. The team will be made up of eligible NRL and Super League players and ambushing England will be high on their agenda. International Rugby League has been waiting for another nation to step up a level and challenge the big three. Toa Samoa could re-write rugby league history with a win over England on the 25th of October in Brisbane.
