Overview: Australia and New Zealand will battle it out in the 2nd game of the double header at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday the 25th of October 2014.
Australia defeated New Zealand in the 2013 RLWC Final and again in the mid-year ANZAC test in 2014. The Kangaroos will be looking to do the same in their first match of the tournament. The Kangaroos have a team of stars and will be playing in front of a packed house at home. All indications point to a convincing win to the Australian’s but they did get ambushed at the same venue in the 2010 Four Nations Final. The Kiwis ran out 16 – 12 winners that day. The Kangaroos will be on their guard for their opening Four Nations match.
The Kiwis put in a disappointing showing in the 2013 RLWC against Australia. This forced Coach Kearney’s hand for the mid-season ANZAC test where he picked a host of new players. The Kiwis will be looking to put their best possible team on the park for the Four Nations tournament. The Bookies will write the Kiwis off but taking on Australia first up will be the best time to spring an upset.
