With news reaching the Ukraine Rugby League that they had won the $3000 RLDF grant. UFRL President Artur Martyrosyan responds to Rugby League Development Fund Members!

“Thank you for the GREAT NEWS!!!”

“It`s really necessary support for Ukraine Rugby League at this time! Due to the political situation in the country, in the first part of the National Championships season not all matches senior and junior competitions were held. Moreover, the U18 team had to abandon the trip to the festival in the Czech Republic.”

“We now await the stabilization of the situation in the country in order to resume full-scale, all Rugby League competitions.”

“Finals of the Championship and Cup of Ukraine for senior teams we want to hold in Kharkiv city at the best stadiums with a broad advertising campaign”

“In these competitions they want to continue the participation of teams from the Crimea and Donetsk. Of course, Rugby League Development Fund Grant is a good support for the implementation of these plans, for which the UFRL THANK YOU VERY MUCH RUGBY LEAGUE DEVELOPMENT FUND members!

Danny Kazandjian from The Rugby League European Federation (RLEF) has assisted the RLDF in the past and had this to say on Ukraine Rugby League winning the RLDF grant.

“It is really pleasing to hear that the UFRL has received Rugby League Planet’s Development Fund award. UFRL has experienced terrific growth in the last three years thanks to a highly competent, dedicated and loyal group of officials that lead the Ukrainian rugby league community. In 2010 Ukraine played 9s only; since then they have created two 13-a-side open divisions of six clubs, and multiple youth leagues; they possess one of the most highly thought of technical corps in Europe; have obtained government recognition; and have represented their country in numerous parts of Europe, always with great dignity and character.

“I would also like to thank RL Planet and all the contributors to the Fund – fans who are committed to making a difference to rugby league as a global sport.”

The Rugby League Development Fund members have now given away $8,500 AUD worth of grants and want to continue with assisting rugby league developing nations as much as possible. So if you want to get involved and make a difference to rugby league as it grows around the world join other fund members and make a difference.
