The NZ Warriors are the only New Zealand rugby league team to play in the National Rugby League competition. The Warriors NRL team are located in Auckland, on the North Island of New Zealand.
Also known as the Auckland Warriors, New Zealand Warriors play out of Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland.
The Auckland Warriors entrance to the Australian Rugby League began in 1995 when they became the first team outside Australia to join the top flight rugby league competition.
In 2001 the Auckland Warriors re-branded to the New Zealand Warriors to appeal to a wider NZ audience.
The Warriors have been in two Grand Finals 2002 and 2011. Unfortunately on both occasions New Zealand couldn’t take home the silverware.
