Rugby League Ireland is delighted to announce a new sponsor following an agreement with G Frac to sponsor Ireland Students ahead of the upcoming Student 4 Nations and also to provide sponsorship of other domestic activity during the 2014 season.
The agreement, which will see G Frac become the principle sponsor of the students as well as sponsor for the amateur team, is a massive boost for RLI in general and the student squad ahead of their trip to Nottingham in April to take on England, Scotland and Wales.
G Frac is a leading provider of independent frac project management and well examination services, with proven international expertise for both onshore and offshore frac operations. The company specialises in design, verification/certification and execution of unconventional frac projects (shale, tight gas sand and coal bed methane) that minimise environmental risk, while maximising reserve recovery. G Frac is an applied research organisation which specialises in operations performed in some of the most remote areas world-wide and prides itself on supporting US-based research into unconventional developments, ensuring the development and application of shale operational best practices world-wide.
The company was formed in 2011, based in Wigan, and has a strong interest in supporting charitable works, as well as helping young people enter the oil industry. To achieve these aims for 2013 G Frac personnel supervise petroleum engineers in the US and mentor young engineers who wish to enter the profession in the UK/EU. G Frac is also sponsoring Rugby League Ireland and has made charitable donations to both Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.
G Frac’s director, Dr Christopher A. Green, was a past player for Wigan St Patricks ARLFC and also played for the Irish Students and represented Ireland in the Student World cup in 1992 in Australia, during which he also captained a European select team.
Speaking on the announcement RLI Director Richard Egan said; “The sponsorship we have received from G Frac comes directly from hosting a world cup game in Ireland where former players connected back with RLI and will prove to be a real boost for the student squad ahead of the upcoming fixtures. We would like to thank Chris for his support of RLI and we hope that this will be the beginning of an extended relationship between the two organisations.”
The Student Four Nations will take place in Nottingham from the 13th of April and will run until the 18th of April.
