With nine wins and a draw from their 10 fixtures, Mico University College emerged victorious in the Jamaican Collegiate 9s tournament run over consecutive weekends.

Their only dropped point in the six team competition was from a 12-all draw with Exed based at Excelsior Community College who were the big improvers. Having finished last in 2012, they were third in the standings just behind acknowledged powerhouses GC Foster.

The University of Technology, Portmore Community College and the University of Technology were the other colleges taking part.

Intercol General Secretary Moy-Ann Simpson commented, “This was another terrific event that illustrates the depth of talent coming through in Jamaican rugby league. The competition was fierce and all the boys loved it.”
