An International Match Review Panel has handed down the following sanctions following the Rugby League World Cup 2013 Group B fixture, France v Samoa on Monday November 11.

Leeson Ah Mau (Samoa) – one-match suspension for Grade A striking with shoulder on William Barthau of France in the 13th minute;

Sauaso Sue (Samoa) – one-match suspension for Grade A tripping on William Barthau of France in the 58th minute.

The Panel also issued a formal caution to Sauaso Sue for striking William Barthau with his shoulder in the 14th minute.

Both players have until 11.00am on Wednesday November 13 to accept the sanction or lodge an appeal. Any appeal would be heard at an International Disciplinary Tribunal at Red Hall, Leeds, on the evening of Wednesday November 13.

If both players are suspended it could be a big blow for Samoa’s semi-final aspirations. The winner of the Samoa v Fiji match will go through to a semi final clash with Australia who are expected to get over the USA in their quarter final tie on Saturday in Wrexham.
