An International Disciplinary Tribunal has tonight cleared Paul Aiton to play in Papua New Guinea’s Rugby League World Cup Group B game against Samoa at Craven Park, Hull, on Monday November 4.

Aiton successfully appealed the one-match suspension handed down by an International Match Review Panel for a careless high tackle on Morgan Escare of France in a fixture on Sunday October 27.

The Tribunal lifted the suspension but imposed a formal caution, which will remain on the player’s disciplinary record for the duration of the tournament.

England player Sam Burgess has excepted his one match ban which has the Australian media in a frenzy over the light suspension handed out.
