Team Kumul has fired a warning shot ahead of their opening World Cup clash against France next Saturday, with a comprehensive win against Scotland in their warm up match last night.
The Kumuls took out the encounter with a 38 to 20 win, taking a 16 to 10 lead into half time and never surrendering the lead.
The Kumuls brightened up a dull but very mild afternoon in an entertaining match. Led by Aussie league legend Mal Meninga and former Easts, Wigan and Queensland Origin half-‐ back Adrian Lam, PNG looked like they will give France – shocked last night by the USA – and Samoa a run for their money behind Group B favourites New Zealand.
According to Meninga and Lam the win will give the Team a confidence boost heading into the opening match but warned they will have to improve and cut down on their mistake rate in their opening match against France.
