PNGRFL Deputy Chairman Sandis Tsaka has been confirmed today as the travelling representative of the PNGRFL to the 2013 World Cup in the UK.
Interim PNGRFL CEO Brad Tassell said it was a requirement that all National bodies have at least one representative;
“It is necessary for us to send a representative to the World Cup. Unfortunately Chairman Don Fox cannot attend so Deputy Chairman Sandis Tsaka will travel next week up until Team Kumul has completed its Tournament. Sandis will have to attend an IRLF meeting in Cardiff along with various other functions and events that must be attended by a Governing body representative. No other Directors or management will be travelling as we are now focusing on other important programs to be delivered by the PNGRFL for 2014.”
“Sandis will represent the PNGRFL with pride and will be on hand to show the boards 100% commitment to Adrian, Mal and the Team Kumul players. We wish them well for this weekends warm up match against Scotland and for our big opening WC match against France on October 27.”
Tassell also said that fans from across the country could email in messages of support, which will be forwarded onto the team in the UK;
“Fans can email their message of support to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. You can also post comments directly to the TEAM KUMUL Facebook page and ALL messages will be passed on immediately to the Team. Its means a lot to the players and staff to hear those message of support and it certainly will lift their spirits by knowing the entire nation is behind them.”
