The USA Tomahawks are proud to welcome Eddy Pettybourne on board their inaugural Rugby League World Cup campaign.

Pettybourne, a prop with seven years NRL experience, will be a great boost for the Tomahawks as they quest to shock the world.

The Tomahawks thank RLWC officials for allowing Pettybourne to be a late inclusion in their 24-man squad following the unavailability of initial selection Andrew Durutalo due to contractual issues.

Pettybourne qualifies for the Tomahawks through his American Samoan grandfather.

He has played for NRL clubs South Sydney Rabbitohs and Wests Tigers and will join the Wigan Warriors next year.

Pettybourne said he was ecstatic to be included in the team.

“This is such an honour for myself but also my family and I feel blessed to be able to represent America,” he said.

“My grandfather is from America Samoa and I can’t wait to get over there and give my all for the Tomahawks.”

The majority of the Tomahawks squad arrived in London this morning where they will be based for one night before travelling to Toulouse to play a friendly against France on Friday night.
