2016 State of Origin Dates

The 2016 Rugby League State of Origin Series is set to be the biggest yet. The NRL has release dates with the three games taking place on the 1st June (Origin I), 22nd June (Origin II) and 13th July (Origin III) 2016.

The great news for NSW rugby league fans is the 2016 State of Origin venues are locked in with home ground advantage falling to the Blues. New South Wales will host the first and third game of the 2016 Origin series. QLD will only host one game in 2016.

2016 State of Origin Venues / Fixtures

State of Origin Game 1: 1st June 2016, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, NSW, Australia, Kick-off 8.15pm local time

State of Origin Game 2: 22nd June 2016, Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, QLD, Australia, Kick-off 8.15pm local time 

State of Origin Game 3: 13th July 2016, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, NSW, Australia, Kick-off 8.15pm local time

2016 State of Origin TV and radio broadcast times

Channel 9 will broadcast the game live into NSW and QLD in Australia. The telecast will start from 7.30pm Australian Eastern Standard Time with Kick-off set for 8.15pm. Broadcast TV and Radio times for South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria will be released in 2016. Based on the previous year the following broadcasters will more than likely pick up the Broadcasting rights for 2016.

The 2016 State of origin series will also be covered by usual Australian radio broadcasters 2GB and ABC. Live radio streaming will also be available.

2016 State of Origin Tickets

Tickets for the 2016 State of Origin game 1 and 3 at ANZ Stadium go on sale to the general public from the 19th of November 2015. Tickets for game 2 at Suncorp Stadium will go on sale in early 2016. Tickets are available via the NRL website www.nrl.com/tickets

Fans will be able to watch Holden State of Origin Games at ANZ Stadium next year for as little as $35.

For the first time, a special two game pass will go on sale for both Sydney games for $75 (Club Ticketed Members) and $85 (General Public).

A limited number of $35 single-game tickets will be available for both Club Ticketed Members and the general public.

Club Ticketed Members can purchase individual bronze category tickets for just $45 and family packages for $145.

Bronze category general public tickets will be available for $50 for both ANZ Stadium games, with family packages priced at $155. A family of four could attend both Sydney matches for $260.

2016 State of Origin crowd and TV viewing figures

The resent State of Origin series saw just under 12 Million TV viewers tune into the three games across Australia. In 2016 TV viewing figures for the State of Origin series are expected to break through the 12 Million mark.
