The Federation Italiana Rugby Football League (FIRFL) confirms a new successful partnership with the “Association Olivia” that deals with the integration of deaf children by offering them the opportunity to play a sport – in this case just Rugby League – alongside non-disabled peers. The partnership will enable our federation to increase both the awareness and participation numbers of the great game of rugby league.

The FIRFL participated with Olivia at a dinner presentation and promotion, which was held in San Lorenzo after the match of the Italian National Rugby Union vs Wales match in Italy last February 23 and saw the welcome participation of Rugby legend Martin Castrogiovanni, honorary President of USAG (FIRFL Coppa Italia club) and illustrious testimonial of the Association.

The FIRFL confirmed the initiative and is working closely with the Association Olivia to help deaf children who live and study in the Magarotto Institute. The goal is to transform Rugby League into a vehicle against the marginalization of the less fortunate children, a glue to integrate worlds that sometimes seem distant.
