Rugby League begins to warm its engines! After the Lazio semi-finals of the Italian Cup in Rome, where the USAG club emerged as winners, the Sicilians are abuzz for the Coppa Italia Rugby League Final in 2013. The finals day is scheduled for 28 April at Monti Rossi Nicolosi in Catania, Sicily. The current defending champions last year, Rectores Belpasso (Catania) will not bestow an easy passage for their opponents from Lazio.
To start the USAG (Unione Sportiva Arlecchini Gladiators) will travel down to Sicily determined to snatch the title from the Islanders and return to Rome, after matches were played in Central and Sicilian zones. A day of great rugby league is planned and but will be more than just that.
The festivities will begin on the evening of April 27 with a great welcome dinner in Catania, and then continue on 28 April with the entire day dedicated to Rugby League. It begins in the morning at 10.30 with (the first Sicilian) youth teams who will play some matches, arriving in the early afternoon with the main event of the day – the Italian Cup finals. A big party will feature alongside the rugby league matches, but also entertainment, music and fun leading into the final result and champions for 2013!
