Current New Zealand Warrior’s skipper Simon Mannering has been named as the new captain of the Kiwis. Mannering will have plenty of pressure on his shoulders as New Zealand look to defend their World Cup title later this year when the Rugby League World Cup kicks off in the UK.

 

The first assignment for Mannering will be the Test Match scheduled to take place in Canberra on the 19th of April. New Zealand have an below average scorecard in the one off test match.

Mannering is a solid player and has proved at club level has has what it takes to captain a side. New Zealander’s will be hoping that he can inspire the Kiwis in October / November this year when they look to go back to back in the World Cup title stakes.
