Welsh international centre Jack Pring has rejoined South Wales Scorpions after spending a year in the Leeds Rhinos Super League Academy.

The 19-year old made three appearances for the Scorpions in 2011 when on dual registration with the old Crusaders Super League side.

A Welsh speaker, he initially joined the Celtic Crusaders Academy after shining for his school, Ysgol Gyfun Llanhari in the Champion Schools competition.

Pring has already won two full caps for Wales, against Italy in 2010 then against France earlier this year, both games having been played in Wrexham. He was also a Wales under 16 and under 18 international.

He joins fellow Welsh international and former Rhinos Academy player Ollie Olds at The Gnoll for 2013, both having been victims of Super League cutting their under 20 academy competition.

Pring said: “I gained a lot of experience at the Rhinos but it’s really good to be back in South Wales. My aim now is to earn a regular place in the side and help the Scorpions to promotion in 2013. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”

Scorpions coach Dave Clark said: “Jack was a part of the Welsh squad this year so I got a close look at his qualities under a national environment.

“He has the potential to be a consistent first team player this year and I’m sure he’ll display the high quality skills I have witnessed. Again another exciting young player joins our squad so get behind the Scorpions for the 2013 season.”
