In front of 11,628 french fans at Stade Felix Bollaert in Lens the French kicked of the Autumn International Series campaign with a win over Wales 20 – 6.

Wales started fast with David James crossing over just under the two minute mark and Matt Seamark converting putting Wales on the board 0 – 6.

The scores remained that way to late in the first half when the French created 6 minutes of mayhem for the Welsh crossing three time to grab the lead and go into the half time break  18 – 6

The second half was a close affair with either side able to cross for a four pointer. 10 minutes into the 2nd half a late tackle and a brawl saw Wales lose Gil Dudson for 10 minutes. Bosc converted the Penalty to put the French further ahead 20 – 6 which is where the score stayed for the rest of the match.

Wales now need to regroup as they take on favorites England at Glyndwr University Racecourse Ground, Wrexham next Saturday.
