South Wales Scorpions Rugby League Club have made their first overseas signing for 2013 in the form of full Tongan international James Tutuila.
The 22-year old second row forward, famous for playing full 80 minute games, has impressed in the Australian Queensland Cup competition for Souths Logan and recently made a try-scoring international debut, scoring in the Tongan’s 28-20 win over USA in Hawaii.
He has played in the Australian club game from junior level and has also played in the junior ranks for the Tongan national side.
He will arrive in Wales for pre-season training ready to take on Championship 1 next year.
Scorpions’ coach Dave Clark said: “We are delighted to bring an international player of this calibre to the Scorpions. He will bring much needed strength and skill to our pack for 2013 as we know that we’re going to be in a very competitive and exciting Championship 1 competition.
“We have more players due to sign soon as we build a strong side ready for pre-season training in December.â€
