PNG’s premier rugby league competition the 2012 Digicel Cup came to an end on the weekend.
In what was a close game the Mendi Muruks went into have time with the narrowest of leads 6 – 4. In the 2nd half the battle continued with Guria scoring just after the break. The Muruks hit back not long after to lead 10 – 8.
A try to Guria late in the game saw the Agmark Rabaul Guria’s defeated the Mendi Muruks 14-10 to claim the 2012 Digicel Cup.

Attention now turns to the Papua New Guinea national team as they prepare to take on the Australian Prime Ministers XIII. The game is scheduled for September the 23rd at Port Moresby Oval. Both sides are yet to announce squads.
