The Combined Affiliated States (CAS) team will continue their tradition of touring developing Pacific nations when they travel to Tonga in September.

Comprising players selected from the recent Affiliated States carnival in Adelaide, the 20-man squad will play two games against the Tongan national team.

Last year the CAS team toured Papua New Guinea for their annual tour, and have made previous trips to developing South Pacific countries.

The Affiliated States tournament is contested annually by Victoria, Western Australia, Northern Territory and South Australia. This year, traditional tournament heavyweights, Western Australia, held off Northern Territory, 24-22 in the last round of matches in what was a de facto final.
