Lebanese Rugby League Federation train PE teachers

The Lebanese Rugby League Federation has spread its wings further into the Beirut community with the completion of a Level 1 Coaching Course at the Lebanese University complex in the capital.
The course was attended by 28 physical education teachers from various areas of the city and led by Nayef Abi Said, the LRLF Development Officer.

Lebanese Rugby League squad arrive in Canada

The Lebanese national team have finally arrived in Toronto after a difficult journey. Following an escalation of tensions in neighbouring Syria impromptu roadblocks had been set up cutting the airport road, forcing the squad to negotiate with protesters to let them through in the dead of the night.
Lebanon Rugby League squad announced for Canada tour match

The Lebanese Rugby League Federation has announced the 18 players that will face Canada at the Lamport Stadium in Toronto on Saturday August 11.
The Cedars will do battle with the Canadian national team for the first time in their second trip to North America, after their 2000 world cup qualifier in Florida, way back in 1999. The squad will depart Beirut in the early hours of Tuesday morning and return a week later.

The first historic match between an England team and a Lebanese side ended with a 40-0 victory for the English Lions Under-18s on Saturday evening in Beirut.The tourists scored four tries in each half as they overcame a spirited Liban Espoirs outfit to register a comfortable win.
The visitors had to contend with a stomach bug that knocked out key players Jack Jones and Jack Green prior to the match as well as the sweltering 32 degrees heat at kick off but quickly hit their straps on AUB’s impressive 3G surface, their training base for the tour.

England Community Lions Under-18s, the first English representative squad to visit Lebanon in any major team sport, has been getting accustomed to the high temperatures and humidity ahead of the first of their two-match series with Liban Espoir - Lebanon’s Under-20s - on Saturday.
“The team has been adjusting well to the weather, which hit 38 degrees on Thursday and will be around 36 on game day,” said Lions tour manager Andy Harland. “All the squad have been enjoying the sights and sounds of Lebanon. They’re looking forward to what I’m sure will be a good game but the main aspect is that it has already been a fantastic cultural experience, and we’ve yet to enjoy playing rugby league in this country.”

Lebanon rugby league name initial train-on squad to face Canada

There is no time to rest for the Lebanese-based players that have been chosen for the train-on squad that will tour Canada later this summer.With their Championship Grand Final played last week, the players have been put through some rigorous training sessions and this level will remain until the squad is finalized and flies out to Toronto in late August.
The local players will be met in Canada by Cedars Head Coach David Bayssari and the Australian-based members of the touring party.
