International Team - New Caledonia Rugby League
Top level domestic competition - N/A
History - New Caledonia have been playing rugby league at a international level since 2003. New Caledonia's first international was against Greece. Greece were to strong winning 26 -10.
March 2004 saw the touring Greek side visit New Caledonia to assist with League development in the pacific area. In the one off game New Caledonia went down to Greece 56 - 8.
In October 2004 New Caledonia entered the Pacific Cup competition. Unfortunately for New Caledonia they suffered some heavy defeats and did not progress into the finals.
In recent times their has been little rugby league news coming out of New Caledonia. In 2008 the NRL Grand Final was televised in many pacific nations including New Caledonia. It is hoped the continued coverage of the NRL's main showpiece into New Caledonia will assist with kick starting league again.
