Lebanese rep season starts

The Lebanese representative season starts today (Saturday, January 28) when the annual round-robin between President's XIII, Federation's XIII and Under-20 Espoirs gets underway at the American University of Beirut.

The select trials which continue until February 4, will be used to choose the Cedars'team to play in internationals this year, including the Middle East North Africa Championships, likely to also include Morocco and Palestine.

Competition leaders, Immortals, have nine players in the two open-age teams, including brothers, lock Robin Hachache and second rower Rudy who will be on opposing teams

Tripoli City five-eighth, Allen Soultan, arguably the form player of the competition so far, has seven team-mates playing for the two senior teams.

Twins, Ray and Monir Finan, have been among the league's best props this season, while Wolves team-mate Nemer Saliba also deserves his opportunity.
