Italy Rugby Football League Grand Final

At the end of a long battle over 80' minutes, the Gladiators snatched victory that is the first record for the championship iRFLeague Rugby League.

The Grand Final was held under a scorching sun that had sorely tested the boys on the field, with temperatures up to 40 degrees that day. Only in the final 10 minutes the Gladiators were able to put the result beyond doubt, the fact Magnifici had a good start to the match have been the end of the first half agter the assaults of the Romans. At the beginning of recovery and for most of the 2nd half the visiting team had shown grit and determination that allowed Magnifici to refer to a balanced position in the latter position of the match (22-22). Excited and nervous in the final minutes of the Gladiators are able to securely back in the lead and put the result beyond doubt.

At the beginning of the race was a minute's silence in memory of George de Angelis, a man of rugby Namau founder, who died March 26.

To open the scoring were the Florentines who went in half on the right side of the Roman's through Nannini to 4 '. After the first few minutes of the predominantly white and red of Magnifici, the Gladiators raised their heads going for a good attacking displays in the 2nd half to score 7 ', 18', 30 'respectively with Diodoro, Brandizzi and Franzoni, Marchetti, Marchetti converts 2 from 3. The answer comes at the end for the Magnifici, with the first time in 35 'with the goal of Segundo Falleri converted from a partial end to the first half of 16 to 10.

Upon returning to camp, Pierluigi Gentile (Captain/Coach) scored at the 51 minuted that extended to the Roman team. But it is precisely at this point that the boys coached by Ferraro unravelled their determination and grit that lead them to cross the goal line twice in 20 'with Falleri (who converted both) and 25' with Bastiani. At 15' from the end is 22-22. Their minds begin to heat up and ignite the fire that the referee must subdue several times. At 55', Fabiani of Gladiators was temporarily sinbinned for feedback on a foul, while the 70' were the Magnificents remained as 12 for a sinbinning on Mafara for a late tackle. Precisely because of the foul Florence lasted 1 / 4 o the field for Marchetti to race on punishment for the two points of the new Gladiators advantage. In the remaining minutes until the break, the Romans could still score twice through the mesh of the Magnificent defensive, with Panetti and Brasca at 35 'and 39', bringing his team firmly in the lead and won the match with the final result of 36-22.

At the end of the match the coach-president of the Magnifici had words of praise towards his players "We did very well in terms of attitude, we didn't let go until the end when we stayed with a man short for a yellow on our Captain Mafara. Also from the physical point of view we have held up well in the impact of the eighty minutes and one to one in both attack and defense we were able to keep up and sometimes exceed the gladiators though many of them play all season with more technical and athletic than ours. As a coach I am very satisfied with the evidence of all the guys, nobody has pulled back and put all that extra that was missing in the first ever trip to Rome with the Gladiators, and there has allowed to remain always in the game, we even passed the first lead and 15 minutes from the end we lost by 24-22."

Gladiators great satisfaction in the words of their captain Pierluigi Gentile "I am very pleased with our performance and how we played throughout the league. The Magnificent in just a few weeks have been able to improve so much and this does nothing but increase in me esteem for my fellow able, despite the resistance of opponents to hold on and take home the match. Now that the door is open, we hope to continue and develop this version of Rugby." The first Cup for the Italian championship of iRFLeague was delivered by Mrs de Angelis for the Gladiators, while a special award was presented to Mafara Simone for closure that "involves thirteen" after his long career. Present were Tiziano Franchini, Fabio Di Pietro and Daniel Veronese, respectively President, Vice President and Secretary of FIRL, who were welcome guests and with whom there was a sincere opinions. The iRFLeague want to thank all those who are committed to all this was possible. First of all the boys who left the field all energy, technicians, medical staff, spectators, the company Union membership of players, blogs and all the media that gave us visibility in recent months, anyone who has contributed to so that the Rugby League could have a chance, hope you enjoyed! Thanks iRFLeague.
